Been using instax mini for years, slowly trying to switch over to the Instax Square.Since the square film price been lower, decided to give this camera a try.- Love the color, this color is very catchy, and doesn’t get dirty easily.- Easy to use, there are only 2 settings, Normal, and selfie mode.- Photo quality is about the same as the other instax analog cameras. Nothing fancy about it. The contrast is a bit strong, the blacks are very black. Overall the color is a bit cold, and on the darker side.- There are no extra setting to fine tune the outcome of the photos. Pretty much its a hit and miss on the output quality.- Selfie mode, this is made for any type of close distance focus. I would say if you are shooting something that’s within 2 to 3 feet of the camera, then use selfie mode. else the photos will turn out blur. You can see the sample in the photos I have uploaded.- Size, this camera is big!!! I am a bit surprised. this is even bigger than the digital printer version. I am not sure if I like the big size.- Battery, there is no rechargeable batteries. Uses 2 of the CR2 camera batteries. They are not cheap. A bit disappointed, I really hoped they would have rechargeable batteries with all their cameras by now. I have the Instax Square printer SP-3. right now the SP-3 is around $100 as well. Compare the photo quality of the SP-3 and the SQ1. Personally I like the SP-3 better. I know exactly what I am getting, since I can preview all my photos, before printing it. I have uploaded samples of the two. The SQ1 quality is decent, strong contrast, and pretty sharp images, not bad. Just the photos are a bit cold, when using the flash. The strong contrast is a bit too much for my taste. There is no way to adjust it, since there are no settings to control it.Personally, I would go with the SP-3 Instax Square Printer. Since they are in the same price range now. I just like to have more control on the outcome of my photos.
